Our leadership group works directly with the company directors to provide a strong link to clients, the industry and our workforce. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the leadership team provides an empowered, decision making and advisory group that is handpicked by the directors to consolidate and execute strategy and tactics. Collectively the leadership group and the directors make up a dynamic and diverse Management team capable of ensuring the success of our clients’ projects and therefore the continued strength and growth of Liquid Interactive.

The leadership team is made up of the following members and is tasked with implementing company objectives identified by the Directors such as; research and development, relationships, processes, creative, education and production.

Michael Burke

Michael Burke

Managing Director and Executive Producer

Michael’s experience as an online strategist and producer extends for over ten years. In that time he has built a reputation as a reliable producer and innovator internationally. He cofounded Liquid Interactive in partnership with Liquid Animation in 2006 and is a respected member of the online industry, valued for his experience, innovative stance and dedication to the industry.

Recognised as an expert in his field, Michael writes and publishes articles on industry trends and is currently the President of the Queensland Branch of the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association. Passionate about the interactive industry, he positioned Liquid Interactive as one of the most dynamic leading interactive and digital creative agencies in Australia.

Samantha Pearce

Samantha Pearce

Account Director

Sam is a leader for digital strategy at Liquid. She is highly involved with the digital marketing clients; and is always working to find the best way to achieve the business and marketing objectives for each project. As Account Director her role also encompasses client service and new business opportunities.

Samantha has a degree in Creative Industries, Advertising and since commencing work at Liquid, Sam has seen significant growth in the company. Liquid, now a leader in the digital industry in Queensland, offers clients digital leadership and Sam has played a key role in this growth.

Samantha has worked for Liquid Interactive in account management since February 2006, with experience in producing work for a many brands including Australian Avocados, Devine, Tourism Queensland and Isuzu UTE Australia, as well as some of Liquid’s International clients in Asia and the US.

She is passionate about digital media and online marketing. Occasionally, you can catch Sam on ABC Radio on their program Hidden Persuaders, as a member of their panel of marketing experts. Sam has a spirited yet frank approach to her work, and truly enjoys a good marketing challenge.

Chris Golsby

Art Director

Chris is an award winning art director and has worked is the design industry for over 12 years across many media formats. He has over 6 years experience in the European and US markets and a further 6 years in the Asia Pacific region. This international experience has given his creative skills a unique and distinctive flavour.

He has worked on small unique projects through to multi national blue chip clients. His portfolio includes clients such as: Jordan F1 Team, Fosters, Siemens, Disney, Warner Bros, Raptis, Niecon, Juniper, Oracle, KFC, Holiday Inn, Tourism Queensland, Clinique, Queensland Rail, Story bridge Adventure Climb and FKP. Chris is an accomplished photographer with a published portfolio in advertising and international press publications.

Damien Mitaros

Technical Director

Damien burst onto the interactive scene after graduating from a bachelor of Multimedia in 2004. After 8 months of freelancing he joined the team at Liquid Interactive. Working at Liquid has exposed Damien to a huge variety of work from e-leaning projects to high end viral marketing campaigns. Various clients that he has worked for include; Disney, Warner Bros, the Le@rning Federation, Mitsubishi Motors Australia, Design Institute of Australia, Financial Basics Foundation, Avocados Australia and anamalz.

As an interactive developer Damien’s toolbox of skills include the usual suspects of Flash AS2/AS3, HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript. With 6 years experience in the industry Damien knows the strengths of these technologies to know where and when to use them.

Sara Versace

Sara Versace

Senior Account Manager

Sara has worked for Liquid Interactive since July 2007 and has experience in producing work for a vast group of projects encompassing websites, iPhone apps and online virtual tours. With comprehensive experience in the management of project teams, Sara’s role involves guiding the project team and key stakeholders through the project development process in order to produce quality project outcomes.

Sara’s role at Liquid Interactive also involves leading and supporting the account management team to provide project management for all of Liquid Interactive’s multimedia production.

Sara works directly with clients as diverse as Isuzu UTE Australia, Brisbane Festival and Warner Bros; she is passionate about digital media and the opportunities for new developments in the digital space. Previously Sara has worked for brand & design agency, Deepend Sydney, and has been working in the interactive industry for 6 years.

A self-proclaimed film buff, Sara has a degree in Communications, Digital Video and Media. Sara’s goal is to deliver the highest quality digital projects, re-enforcing Liquid Interactive’s position as Queensland’s leading Digital Creative Agency.


Elizabeth Emery

Elizabeth (Lovinger) Emery

Production Manager

Elizabeth has a deep understanding of the digital media world and a vast working experience across a wide range of digital media. Originally hailing from New York, she migrated to Australia 7 years ago to complete two master’s degrees in ‘Arts & Media’ and ‘Digital Design’, and gain international experience in the evolving digital world.

Elizabeth has a solid understanding of workflow process in digital production, as well as insightful knowledge of the pre and post-production processes as a result of previously working on the other side of the fence as a multimedia developer. Since then, she has taken on production management roles which saw her facilitating and managing the production of projects for clients such as Devine Homes, Brisbane Festival, Isuzu UTE Australia, Disney, Warner Bros, Education Services Australia and Queensland Rail. Elizabeth’s drive to succeed in the digital era has given her the unique set of skills and experience to lead Liquid Interactive’s production team forward into the exciting and ever-changing digital space.

Rob O'Connor

Rob O’Connor

Senior Instructional Designer

Rob is an experienced teacher with degrees in Primary Teaching and Animation. He has had over 7 years experience in the classroom and about the same length of time flexing his drawing and design skills on a professional basis.

This combination of skills and his deep interest in all facets of multimedia has led to his career as an Instructional Designer. Having been with Liquid from the start, and with over 10 years of e-Learning instructional design experience, Rob has spearheaded hundreds of e-Learning designs focusing on delivering educational outcomes. Working with clients such as Educational Services Australia, Seqwater, Disney e-Learning, the Mining Industry Skills Centre, Warner Bros, Bravehearts, Blake Education, Queensland Rail, The Department of Environment and Resource Management, Macmillan Press and Triple P International (Positive Parenting Program), Rob has extensive experience working with a range of learners.

Rob doesn’t like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain, despite what the song says. A bourbon or two in a nice, dry pub sounds much better, thanks.
