Let’s get real about AI: What comes next

Over the past few months, in partnership with The Mandarin, we launched the national public sector survey ‘Let’s Get Real About AI’. It captured insights from representatives across Federal, State, and Local Government, covering every state and territory, a wide range of departments and agencies, and participants with diverse levels of AI experience.
Our goal was simple: to cut through the hype and build a clearer, more practical picture of what’s working, what’s not, and where AI has the greatest potential to deliver better public outcomes. The full report is due for release in August. It will highlight how prepared the sector is, where the opportunities are, and the gap between the AI solutions currently being prioritised and where the potential for AI impact is.
